Staffing Update

With Abby B-C concluding her time as our Campus Minister in May to pursue her call to seminary, things will be changing among our staff this summer. First of all, current staff will be shifting some roles and hours in order to fulfill the needs of the community in the coming months. But most exciting is that we will have a familiar face returning to join us for another stint on staff. Starting July 1, Adam King will be rejoining the staff on a part-time basis as our Minister of Worship! We are very excited to be welcoming Adam back on staff, and we look forward to him regularly sharing his gifts for worship with our community once again in the months to come!

Call For Leadership

At RISE, we believe that God has a dream that we would both discover and use the gifts God has given to us. And we believe that everyone who desires to lead should have an opportunity to do so!

During the summer months we are working at calling new leaders and reorganizing our Leadership Teams for the next academic year. And we are looking for some new prospective leaders to answer the call, and find ways to lead in the places where their passions meet the world's greatest needs.

So if you have a desire to use your gifts in a leadership capacity, we want to know!

Harrisonburg Rockingham Social Services is specifically in need of foster parents who would be open to fostering LGBTQ+ youth. Scan the code above or visit https://family-match.org/ to inquire and/or learn more!

Community Connections

We invited RISE folks to submit any updates they were willing to share with the community so that we could share them here in our newsletter, along with pictures of recent events/fun experiences, things that brought joy, struggles being experienced, etc. The result is Community Connections!

We’ve got a fairly slim collection right now, but here is the great thing about this format - it can grow in real time! Click HERE to make your own submission to be added ASAP!

So keep us posted on what it is going on in your life. And when you have need for care or prayer, be sure to let us know how we can lift you up. Requests for care and/or prayer can always be sent via e-mail to cares@riseharrisonburg.org, texted to 833-803-0868, or submitted online via our RISE Cares form.

+Groups (“Plus Groups”) are our small groups here at RISE - a micro-community designed with the early church in mind. 4-10 group members form each +Group, which meets in a manner and at the time and place of the group’s choosing. These groups share life together by meeting regularly for spiritual development, social interaction and practical, mutual support.

If you are interested in joining a +Group, all you have to do is indicate your interest in a short email to cares@riseharrisonburg.com, and you’ll receive a link to a Google form to collect a little more information from you as to your interest and availability. Want to learn more? Check our +Group FAQs, and if all else fails, just ask :-)

Do you ever get asked what makes our community special and unique? Ever find yourself searching for words to adequately describe this wonderful, beautiful mess we call RISE?
