Chris Zepp

Chris is 45 years old and lives in Bridgewater with his wife of 22 years (Amanda), two teenage children (Shylah, 17 & Tristan, 16), and two mostly adorable cats (Casper and Joey, the latter of whom is convinced they are God's gift to creation.) He was born in Baltimore and grew up on a farm in Hagerstown, MD, where his father and sister's family continue to raise sheep, pigs, cows, and occasional other critters. He graduated from Bridgewater College in 2000 with a major in Philosophy and Religion and a minor in Peace Studies, and earned his Masters of Divinity from Bethany Theological Seminary (IN) in 2007. Early in their marriage, he and Amanda spent a year in volunteer service at Gould Farm in Massachusetts - a residential rehabilitative community for persons with major mental illness. Over the last 20+ years, Chris has served on the pastoral teams of three Church of the Brethren Congregations - two in Lancaster County, PA and most recently at the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren, where he was the Associate Pastor for fourteen and a half years. Since 2016, he has also been an ordained minister in the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (Carbo Diem!) In the fall of 2021 he began working as a full-time classroom assistant with English language learners at Wilbur S. Pence Middle School, and last year he moved into an assistant role with Level 1 post-graduate special education students at Turner Ashby High School -- a job he will continue in the 2024-2025 school year. In his free time, Chris enjoys music, humor, spectator sports, board and card games, puzzles, reading, movies and TV, and (usually!) being a karate and band dad.
