HARTS (Harrisonburg and Rockingham Thermal Shelter) is a shelter of last resort for friends in our community who have no where else to stay. Faith communities throughout Harrisonburg and Rockingham County open their facilities as a week-long homeless shelter during the winter months.
RISE will be hosting HARTS at Faith Community Church from February 18 through February 25. We will need donations of snacks, breakfast food, drinks, and other supplies as well as volunteers to cook and serve dinner, be with the residents, and stay overnight. Please contact Megan Marker (markermr@gmail.com), Laura Toni-Holsinger (ltoniholsinger@yahoo.com), or Paul Rowley (rowleypw@gmail.com) if you are interested in getting involved!
